Hosby Traffic Safety
(Page under construction!)
The following photos were taken to show areas in Hosby where traffic safety can be improved.

Pretend you are a truck driver exiting Palsgaard/Credin for the first time.
Notice that there are no signs pointing toward E-45, Århus, Kolding or anywhere else.
Which way would you turn?

Unfortunately this small sign is behind you--did you see it?
Most seem not to see it--or do not understand Danish.
Isn't there an "international" or EU approved, non-Danish text way to
help the driver from Poland know which way to turn?
Even if the Global Positioning System (GPS) based map is telling the driver to turn left?

But, in front of you as you look left there is a speed limit sign. Can you see it?

Here is the speed limit sign again.
But, it is encountered by the driver while in a turn and watching in the rear view mirror
to see if the trailer's tires miss the stones. Plus the driver is shifting gears
and still wondering which way to turn.

Accelerating and shifting toward Hosby there is NO indication
that a quiet little village lies just past where the road appears to end.

A little closer the driver can begin to see both the hill down and that the road turns to the right
in the distance. But, still there is nothing alerting the driver that the vehicle will enter a village
in about 15 seconds, going down hill (easily at 60 k/t or more) with houses on both sides and children,
pets, and horses. A perfect place for a signs showing children playing, another warning of horses
and riders on the roadway, the 40 k/t speed limit, and a big sign showing no heavy trucks past this point.

Halfway down the hill the driver can begin to see driveways near, and a house or two
in the distance. But, the driver can not see a vehicle is about to pull out from Grønvej,
just a few seconds away on the right.
Can you see the intersection?
For sure, you can not see what might be just two meters from the roadway
on one of those driveways--perhaps a child!
(Three children live in the house on the left, and two at the other--
but, they can not safely visit each other without direct parent supervision.)

Here is another view of that same intersection.
Notice that neither vehicle can see the other.
The truck coming down the hill can't see a vehicle until passed the house on its right,
and a vehicle wanting to enter Hosby Langgade can not see the vehicle
coming down the hill because of the same house.
When they see each other, if the truck is going faster than 40 k/t there will be a problem!!
(There was a vehicle destroyed at this intersection in circa 1996-'97.)
more to come . . .
