- 3 tablespoons warm water
Instructions:
- Cream the fat and peanut butter until soft

- Lightly mix the rest of the ingredients
- Drop portions of the soft dough from the tip of spoon onto greased baking sheets
- Flatten each cooky (sic) with the broad side of a knife
- Bake 10 minutes in a moderate oven
- Cool and store in a tightly covered jar
Notes:
- This was among my mom's hand written recipies.
- If she ever made them I don't remember it.
- My guess is the "fat" listed in the ingredients would have been Crisco brand, or similar (hydrogenated vegetable oil)
- Helen Macdonald of sunny but cool Bruce Mines, Ontario Canada and sunny Florida found this page uncompleted and asked for the recipe via email on 13 September 2001--thanks for asking Helen!
- On 26 Oct 2001 I got this note from her: It is terrific! I
used olive oil rather than shortening. The cookies turned out just
fine . . .
It was so easy to do and quickly turned out . . .
The recipe makes 48 good sized cookies . . .
Just for the record, I am a great grandmother who made peanut
butter cookies for my four boys many, many times. I don't know what I
did with my recipe but this one is a better one.
