FAQ #10: Where do you live in Denmark?

I'm living and working in a brick cottage located in Hosby Denmark about 4,150 feet from, and 33 feet above, the Kattegat Sea. Hosby is about 55.74781582890835N 10.017637610435486E on the outcropping of land about nine miles (15 km) wide between Horsens and Vejle fjords.

When the Greenland ice shelf and both polar ice caps melt, will the property be ON the coast (or underwater)? For how long? Well, I asked that question over 10 years ago, and now I have an answer: when (if?) the sea level rises (about) 9 meters (about 30 feet) I would have a sea front home at the red dot, on a new island as seen in the following image. However, if it rises about 10 or 11 meters (another 3 to 6 feet the house will be in the water! But, I have read that Antarctica alone could contribute a 60 meters rise, that Greenland could deliver another 8 meters rise, and worldwide alpine glaciers could yield a further 8 meters, potentially adding up to 76 meters. In which case it could be cool to scuba dive into my dining room, and catch a live fish swimming around--over 20 miles from the coast of the largest Danish Island (there being nothing but islands)..

Use your browser's back button to return from the maps for both the entire country of Denmark, and a zoomed in view right around Hosby. Or, maybe you would like to see what Yahoo shows as current and forecast weather report for Horsens (Denmark's seventy largest city, about a half hour drive Northwest). Or, how about the latest weather satellite loop of my spot?
